Congratulations to Chelsea Truong for winning the second place medal at the BCGA Bantam Girls Championship, held August 18th and 19th at Mt. Brenton Golf Club. Chelsea is a member of Victoria Golf Club and Uplands Golf Club and if you were recently watching CHEK News a few nights ago, Chelsea was featured along with her mentors, Penny Baziuk and Jackie Hellard. Scroll down a bit farther and you find another feature on the relationship Chelsea has with these two Harris Erickson ladies.
The Bantam category is open to players 14 yrs. of age and under.
Eventual winner was Michell Liu (C) of Vancouver, Chelsea was 2nd (R) and Yeji Kwon placed 3rd (L).
In conjunction with the Bantams, there was also another event going on for the less experienced golfers, the NOVICE division. Sarah Kim from Victoria Golf Club placed second. The eventual winner was Sophia Mackenzie from Cowichan (C), and in 3rd, Angela Zou from Nanaimo (L)
