The next event is the FUN EVENT AT THE RIDGE which takes place on Saturday, May 11th. Be on time to meet at 10:00 am and try your skill at putting and then 9 holes followed by prizes and lunch in the club house. The best part…..it is FREE!!
JUNIOR GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP
Two great courses scheduled for Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th. The first day begins at Cedar Hill Golf Course, followed by the final at Victoria Golf Club. You can find the Entry Form and Waiver on this website. These can be mailed in any time before the entry form deadline or why not bring it with you to the Ridge on May 11th.
This year we are very lucky to have the Astor Cup tournament coming to Canada, and in particular, Royal Colwood Golf Club from August 26th to September 2nd. This is an international tournament between elite amateur golfers from Great Britain/No. Ireland, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Canada. The tournament is held every four years and Canada has hosted three times at Vancouver, Hamilton and Winnipeg. In 2015 at Adelaide, Australia, three of the five players on the Canadian team were from B.C., including Victoria’s own, Naomi Ko. Canada has won this event twice, in 1979 and 1987.
The Organizing Committee is dedicated to making this event a memorable one and hopes that some of our Juniors will be willing to get involved in helping with this event. You could be asked to be a flag bearer at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and there will be other tasks designed with Junior Girls in mind. While August 26th may seem a long way off, this could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of such a prestigious event. There will be much more information coming along later and there may be some training involved, depending on the task. Please let Jan know as soon as possible so that she can pass your name along to the Organizing Committee firstname.lastname@example.org
