Day 4 – June 30th
While the trophy alluded her hands this year, Naomi can be proud to be a member of the BC Team competing at Nationals. Akari can hold her head high as well with a T11 finish considering the quality of participants at this year’s Championship.
Maddie Szeryk birdied four of her first six holes, building her lead to as many as seven shots before cruising to a four-shot win at Vernon Golf & Country Club. Maddie resides in Texas but holds dual citizenship.
Day 3 – June 29th
7 birdies and 1 bogey jumped Naomi into second place, just 3 strokes behind the leader. Her 67 is low round of the Tournament. Akari can still finish in the top 10 with another good round on the final day. Currently T11.
Day 2 – June 28th
What a difference a day makes!! Akari posted a great 76 with a terrific back 9 of 1 birdie and 8 pars which puts her into a T10. Naomi ran into a few problems with a triple on #11 to drop to 5th, but there are still two days to post more low scores.
Day 1 – June 27th
Naomi Ko of Royal Colwood posted a 4-under 69 for a one shot lead in the first round of the BC Women’s Amateur being played at Vernon Golf Club, June 27th – 30th. Akari Hayashi of Uplands is T14 giving the Zone Team an 8 shot lead for the Zone Team Competition which concludes Wednesday.
