Neither wind nor rain, nor chilly days, can keep our Junior Girls from the challenge of two great golf courses. On June 5th, they took to the grand views of Arbutus Ridge, finishing in the tranquil settings of Highland Pacific on the Sunday. Amazingly, with the challenge of cruel weather, excellent scores were recorded.
Congratulations to Akari Hayashi (UP) for her win with gross scores of 78 and 71. Great to see Akari back golfing with the Zone after a long layoff with a hand injury and time out for her studies at the University of South Dakota where she is majoring in Chemistry……and golf!
Congratulations also to Chelsea Truong (Victoria) as runner-up with final gross scores of 76 & 78. Chelsea will join with Akari as the Zone representatives to the BC Juniors at Morningstar, June 29th – July 2nd.
The Low Net Trophy was won by Rebecca Kim (Victoria) with a low net total of 155
Sarah Kim (Victoria) and Lana Rummel (Gorge Vale) tied for Low Net Runner-up with a total of 160.
Our thanks to Arbutus Ridge & Highland Pacific for hosting this Championship and to all those girls who took part. Keep up the good work, and to those who will take on the challenges of Morningstar, play well and enjoy the experience. Click on the link below to review all scores.
A special thanks to our generous sponsor, Tafe Measure for their continued support of Junior Girls’ golf.
