A beautiful day to welcome 47 players to the ZONE 5 NET CHAMPIONSHIP on Monday, July 17th at Ardmore Golf Course, and their recently renovated clubhouse. It was delightful to see so many new faces in this tournament and their enthusiasm for the event.
The NET was originally a nation-wide competition first played in 1972 for golfers with higher handicaps. After numerous name changes, the NET Tournament was decided upon in the late 90’s and turned over to the Zones to run a 1-day tournament to be held on a 9-hole golf course. Each Zone Net winner’s score is submitted to BCGA who will determine the overall Provincial winner who will receive the BCGA plate.
Congratulations also to Laurie Van Bree of Ardmore Golf Club as Runner-Up with a Net 65, and to all the other ladies who were net winners.
The renovations to the clubhouse do look lovely, so on a free day, reserve a tee time for a day on the course and a cool one after the game. Understand there are more upgrades still to come.
