WENDY SWONNELL DEBBIE NEEDHAM
Both these ladies have worked long and hard for their respective clubs.
Wendy, with the newly formed Cedar Hill Ladies Social group, has worked hard, and is continuing to work closely with Saanich District to maintain and continue organized women’s golf at Cedar Hill. Working closely with the new management group in the Pro Shop, Wendy and her group have developed an impressive environment for former, present and new members, increasing the membership to approximately 100 women. Even those no longer active with the golf club, or may find themselves in need of reassurance, will often awaken at the hospital with Wendy at their side.
Congratulations, Wendy, you are one of a kind, with the emphasis on kind!!
Debbie is soon to leave us, returning to the UK with husband, John. While Zone 5 and her home club Olympic View are still recovering from this news, Debbie will leave the area leaving a remarkable imprint on those who had the good fortune to attend one of her Zone’s full-blown or Mini Rules Clinics. Not only were they informative, but a bunker full of fun!! With her Rules bible close at hand, Debbie has spent hundreds of hours just this year answering the call of BCGA and Golf Canada to assist or lead the Rules Referees into battle, for both men and women. In her words “Long days but a ringside seat to see some phenomenal golf and help the odd superstar along the way,.,.can’t beat it!!
