Four shots off the pace after the first round of the 2018 Zone Women’s Amateur Championship at Bear Mountain on June 10th, Uplands’ AKARI HAYASHI’S consistent play brought her to the top of the leaderboard on the final day at Cowichan, just one stroke ahead of another junior competitor, Cindy Koira, Victoria Golf Club, and senior Alison Murdoch also of Victoria Golf Club. Akari’s two-day total was 154 with rounds of 79 and 75. Just one week prior, Akari and Cindy also finished the Zone’s Junior Championship, with just a one stroke separation.
Both Akari and Cindy will be doing a lot of travelling this July on behalf of the Zone this year, attending the BC Juniors in Kimberley and the BC Amateur at Golden as our Team representatives.
