Barb Rainey – Presidents’ Award

Barb Rainey has been involved at both the Zone and Provincial levels in several capacities with British Columbia Golf. She was the Director of the British Columbia Ladies Golf Association for the Victoria District Women and subsequently the director for Zone 5 Women and representative to the Zone 5 Women on the Zone Council since the change of governance. She has been a member of the Policy and Bylaws Committee and has been a constant champion of the Women’s Pin Rounds etc., bringing them up to date from the days of the BCLGA. She has also been a member of the Committee for Player Development Trust Fund and a Tournament Chair for the 2009 BC Senior Men and the 2015 BC Junior Girls.

A volunteer at all provincial and national championships held in the Capital Zone, she has chaired many British Columbia Golf Championships when they have been held in the Victoria area. At a 100 year celebration at the Victoria Golf Club she chaired and worked tirelessly for a successful event. Directors at that time and past BCLGA presidents were invited along with other dignitaries. Barbara continues to volunteer her time as the BC Zone Council women’s representative for Zone 5.

On top of this Presidents’ Award from Sport BC, Barb is also a recent BC Golf Distinguished Service Award recipient and the work she has put in has made a significant impact on golf in B.C. Barb is part of a group of individuals who share similar passions of service and giving back to the game.

To Barb, volunteering her service is not a chore but something she loves to do and we thank her for choosing British Columbia Golf as the organization she supports.

We would like to thank Barb for her tireless work and helping to continue to make golf ‘A Sport For Life.’
