Gorge Vale offered a challenge to all but one young lady, Zhehui Yu from Burnaby, who proudly raised her trophy after a four-round score of -7, which included a stunning 64 on the first round. There were 37 juniors in the field with a cut to 20 after the second round.
Vienna Scheffer (Bear Mountain) and Emma Kral (Olympic View) can feel very proud, as is the Zone, for their winning the ZONE TEAM Competition which is contested over the first two days. They also finished tied for first in the Better Ball Competition but lost out on a countback.

In addition to her second place in the Championship (+6), Emma also earned a spot on the Junior Team representing British Columbia at the Canadians in Sainte Marie, Que., August 13 – 16. Perhaps the most exciting news for Emma is that she received an invite to the Canadian Women’s Open, August 20 – 24th at the Mississauga Golf & Country Club. Zone 5 will be supporting you on every stroke!!

Congratulations also to Anna Wu of Royal Colwood who tied for 4th Place with +8. There were also three other Juniors who did not make the cut….Zaya Bains, Lois Harnett-Shaw and Gucci Swan, but we will see more of these girls in upcoming tournaments as they continue to hone their skills.
