Congratulations to ALISON MURDOCH of Victoria Golf Club who will be inducted into the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame on October 27 at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort. In addition to Alison, three other athletes will also be honoured.
Alison’s career as an amateur golfer began in Quebec where she won the Quebec Junior Girls Championship as well as numerous regional championships. However, it wasn’t until she joined the Victoria Golf Club in 1998 that her national success began. In 2002, she won her first of four Canadian Senior Women’s Championships. Since then she has won internationally, capturing the British Senior Women’s Open Championship, four Irish Senior Women’s Open Championships, and two PNGA Senior and Mid-Amateur Championships. Alison has also taken the BC, Alberta and Washington State Senior titles. At the Zone level, she has sixteen Senior and ten Amateur titles to her credit.
In 2013 Alison was inducted into the Golf Canada Hall of Fame and the PNGA Golf Hall of Fame. In 2009, she was inducted into the BC Golf Hall of Fame, and is a five time PNGA Senior Women’s Player of the Year.
