Tournaments

Zone 5 Women host a number of tournaments over the course of the golf season for all ages and levels of women golfers.

All participants must be a member of British Columbia Golf Association (BCGA) either by belonging to a Zone 5 member golf club or the BC Player’s Club. They must adhere to the policies of the BCGA. Each player must register and agree to play according to the Rules of Golf and BCGA Player Code of Conduct policy. If carts are allowed for the tournament, a 2 cart maximum per tee group is allowed.

Amateur Championship, first played in 1920 – 2 day tournament on 2 different courses – 36 hole stroke play. Open to all Zone 5 Women with a Handicap Factor of 18.1 or lower. Champion and Runner-up will represent Zone 5 at the BC Women’s Amateur Championship. Played In conjunction with Senior and Handicap Championships. Carts are not allowed.

Senior Championship, first played in 1981 – 2 day tournament on 2 different courses – 36 hole stroke play. Open to all Zone 5 Women with a Handicap Factor of 18.1 or lower. Player must have reached their 50th birthday by the first day of the National Senior Tournament (September 16, 2026). Champion and Runner-up will represent Zone 5 at the BC Senior Championship. Played in conjunction with Amateur and Handicap Championships. Carts are allowed.

Handicap Championship, first played in 2004. Combined with the Amateur/ Senior Championships. A 2 day tournament on 2 different courses – 36 hole stroke play. Open to all Zone 5 Women with a verifiable handicap factor. Played from forward tees. Carts are allowed.

Junior Championship, first played in 1976 – 2 day tournament – 36 hole stroke play. Open to all Zone 5 Junior Girls with a verifiable handicap factor. Carts are not allowed.

Champion of Champions tournament, first played in 2022- 1 day 18 hole stroke play tournament. Open to each Zone 5 Club Champion and Net Club Champion from the previous year. No substitutions will be allowed. Carts are allowed.

Net Tournament, first played in 1972. A 1 day 18 hole stroke tournament played on a 9-hole Zone golf course. Open to all Zone 5 Women with a verifiable handicap factor between 18.2 and 54 at closing date. Low net winners only. Putting and KP prizes. Carts are allowed.

Foursomes Tournament, first played in 1948, is an alternating-shot format in which two-player teams compete using one ball. Players alternate shots until the hole is completed, with one player teeing off on odd-numbered holes and the other on even-numbered holes. The qualifying round is stroke play format, followed by four days of match play across potentially five different golf courses. All qualifying teams are guaranteed two days of match play. Carts are permitted.

Cancellation Policy, if a player cancels more than 30 days prior to the draw date of the tournament, a full refund will be given. If a player cancels between 30 days and the draw date, a $15 service fee will be charged. Once the tournament draw is made or the tournament has started, there will be no refund.
