Margaret G. Rogers
April 13, 1933 – January 14, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret ‘MARG’ Rogers on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in Parksville, B.C. A gentle and compassionate woman; the best friend anyone could ever hope to have. Marg dedicated a number of years to the Zone 5 Women’s Committee, serving as their Chair on two occasions; 2008 – 2009 and 2014 – 2015, volunteering at a number of tournaments for Golf Canada, BC Golf and of course the Zone. She was also a tireless worker for the ladies of Arbutus Ridge.
Marg and husband Mike, lived a good number of years in Victoria before moving to Arbutus Ridge after Mike’s retirement, where both enjoyed the golf course and a wide circle of friends. Retirement was great, spending their winters in Palm Desert with friends, family and drop-ins from up North.
As time progressed, Mike’s health began to fail and they departed Arbutus Ridge for Qualicum Beach around 2017 to be closer to daughter Cheryl’s home, but unfortunately they didn’t have long together in their new condo where Mike passed away. After a few months, Marg moved to the new Berwick House in Parksville which she enjoyed so much, particularly the lovely view of the sea from her dining room window.
A few months ago Marg moved to an extended care facility but misfortune would strike again as a recent fall resulted in a broken hip, and from this, coupled with other medical difficulties, she was not able to recover.
A service will be held sometime in the Spring. Our condolences to Cheryl, Danny, Mike, Linda and Donna and their extended families and friends. We will all miss Marg, and that warm and loving smile she shared with everyone.
