A tremendous loss to family and friends, Peg passed away peacefully on November 26th surrounded by her family; daughter, Mona, sons Doug and Boyd. She was predeceased by her husband Bryan in 2020. Peg was born in Edmonton and is also survived by her sister Lee in Priddis, AB, and brother Bob in Toronto.
Peg loved all sports, particularly the Blue Jays, and survived many heart-breaking discussions on how they should have won the Cup, but her first love was golf whether as a player or as a volunteer, and she was a very good player. She and sister, Lee, crossed the country numerous times to play in Golf Canada’s Senior or Amateur events. After settling in Victoria, Peg spent her first years of golf at Ardmore and Glen Meadows where she served as Ladies Captain before moving to Royal Colwood in 1995.

She joined District 1, now Zone 5 Ladies Committee, in 1986 serving in many capacities, including Publicity, Treasurer, Rules and mainly Course Rating. She also served on the Provincial Board of the BCLGA for 4 years as Provincial Course Rater, then onto the Board of the amalgamated British Columbia Golf for 3 years as the Chair of the Course Rating Committee,. She became a Master Course Rater and not only rated courses all across the Province, but also became an instructor in the Course Rating process which she thoroughly enjoyed.
In 2004 Peg received the President’s Award from Sport BC and in 2008 she received the Distinguished Service Award from British Columbia Golf for her volunteering services.
A great bridge player, we will all miss that infectious laugh when the winning trick was made or the chip that rolled in for a birdie!
