Thursday, September 21st saw the Qualifying round of Stroke play begin at Cedar Hill Golf Course with 64 pairs competing for the prized trophy. A total of 8 Flights will be filled over the next 4 days of Match Play, starting with the Championship, then Consolations, followed by Flight 1#, #2 #3, #4, #5, #6. In addition to the Championship cup, there is also a Team Trophy decided after Qualifying.
Olympic View was the host for the first round of Match Play and a decided turn for the worst as far as weather was concerned…….wet and windy. However the ladies are a hardy group and completed their rounds in one piece
And a lovely surprise at the Registration Desk, Mary Lou Bompas and Beth Hall from Salt Spring Island, arrived with a lovely bouquet of flowers for the Committee, fresh from Mary Lou’s garden. Thank you ladies!!!
Next stop will be Arbutus Ridge on Tuesday, a day off on Wednesday, Semi Finals at Victoria on Thursday, and the Finals and presentations at Royal Colwood on Friday. Thank you to all the clubs hosting and their staff and to our volunteers.
