The NET Tournament brought out a lot of new players along with our regular supporters. A warm and muggy day, along with a beautifully conditioned Ardmore Golf Course, provided a lovely afternoon for 51 ladies to test their golfing skills.
The competition was first played in 1972 in all Provinces for the National Handicap Award. The tournament was originally organized to give higher handicap players an opportunity to have their own event. Over the years there have been a number of changes; various names have come and gone, as well as the actual national tournament being discontinued in 1996. However, this did not deter British Columbia who established the NET Tournament to be inaugurated in 2003 and played on a 9-hole golf course. Each Zone submits the name and winning score of their player to BCGA who then determines which Zone player will receive the Provincial Plate.
This year our WINNER is MIRANDA JONES of Cedar Hill with a great Net Score of 64 and we shall keep our fingers crossed that this will hold up for the Provincial Plate and a repeat of 2024. We have to go back to 2018 to find a lower score, which belonged to our Zone Tournament Chair, Linda Grisley (61).

You never know what the day may bring until you try. NANCY ARCHBOULD of Cedar Hill was very apprehensive about signing up and left it to the last minute. Look what happened!

Our thanks to all the ladies who participated and the enthusiasm shown that when you combine with a great day, a lovely golf course, new and old friends getting together, there can be only one result… A FUN DAY!!
Our thanks also to Axle Riley and his Staff and Chef and his helpers for the lovely lunch. We look forward to returning to Ardmore in 2026.
