CONGRATULATIONS to LINDA GRISLEY of Arbutus Ridge Golf Club for winning the NET TOURNAMENT held at Ardmore Golf Club on July 12th.  This was Linda’s first entry into a Zone event and a near record as her Net 61 was just one stroke off the lowest score recorded for as long as records have been kept.  Linda’s score will now be matched against those other Zones competing for the Tray presented by BC Golf.

Presentation made by Tournament Chair, Susan Dafoe

Congratulations to all the Net winners as pictured below.  Full results can be found on the web along with the putting finalists.

This competition was first played in 1972 in all Provinces, but ultimately discontinued by the CLGA in 1997.  After numerous name changes, in 1998 BC inaugurated a one-day Net Tournament on a 9-hole golf course to be run by the Zones to encourage higher handicapped ladies to participate and enjoy competitive golf.  In 2003, the name of NET Tournament was established.

The winner of the Raffle Basket was Corine Labelle of Olympic View

Our sincere thanks to the staff at Ardmore and the wonderful volunteers who acted as spotters, and manned the scoreboard.  Our thanks to Captain Diana Wishlaw for arranging volunteers and early morning set up.
