After a 4th place finish in 2014 and 3rd place in 2015, Naomi Ko reached the pinnacle in her last year of junior play by winning her first Canadian Junior Girls title with a convincing 4 stroke margin. Played at The Links at Penn Hills in Shubenacadie, NS, blustery winds and blistering heat didn’t stop Naomi from posting a par round of 72 on the final day for a 283 total.
A Royal Colwood member, Naomi has an exemption into this year’s Canadian Pacific Open, however, this title carries with it an exemption into the 2017 CP Open. What fun and experience it will be to play alongside the big names of the LPGA, August 25 – 28th at Priddis Greens in Calgary. The 2017 CP Open will return to Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club at a date in August (TBA) to coincide with Canada’s 150 year celebration.
Vancouver Island players did very well with Uplands’ 13 year old Akari Hayashi finishing T21.
Congratulations to all!!
